It's been a challenging winter for social media ads. We've found Facebook Ads, in particular, expensive and we've had to work hard to eek out the profit. But March was better than February, and it reminds me that there is a cycle in play, a bit like the weather. Autumn and the run up to Christmas are the most expensive time for us as big bucks flood in from the Black Friday crowd, selling everything from consumer electronics to herbal remedies. January also seems to be tough, perhaps a lot of corporates kick off the new year with fresh campaigns.
But the good news is, from my experience, the summer months provide the best value for us. Businesses tend not to run major campaigns during the vacation season and that's when we can take advantage. If you're overdue a free promo on book one in your series, now's the time to plan a spring/summer campaign.
